Melinda Belle Hall

Melinda Belle Hall, age 57, of Rocky Mount passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning, September 2, 2023. Melinda had some health issues but this came about unexpectedly. If you knew Melinda, you know she was one of a kind; loud, gruff, loving, and loyal. She was fun to be around, hardworking, a great provider to her family, good cook, great listener, and a wonderful loving & caring mom, grandma, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. Melinda always tried to keep the atmosphere light but also had a temper.

Melinda was preceded in death by her husband, Tony C. Hall of 29 years; loving dad, Hubert C. Dowell; sweet sister, April Dawn Scott; brother, Matthew Dean Wyatt; brother, David Ray (Doc) Wyatt; Uncle, Terry who was like a brother; biological father, Artie Raymond Wyatt Jr.; and so many other family members.

Surviving are her two children, beautiful daughter, Ashley N. Smith (Jordan); and her precious son, Tony C. Hall II (Shelby); most amazing mom, Carolyn H. Dowell; sisters, Kimberly J. Moore (Timmy), Debbie R. Dudley; children of Tony, Kim Hale, Jessica Hodges (Bugger), Stephanie Helton, and the bright shining stars of her life, her adorable granddaughters, Delinda, Phoenix, Karma, & Harper as well as Brighen, Zach, Blair, Kaitlin, and Wyatt; plus numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews. She will be greatly missed by boyfriend, James Mize.

Melinda was well known in the community after working at the local Kroger store for 22 years. Whenever she was out in town, people would stop to speak with her and catch up. She never met a stranger and enjoyed seeing her customers outside of work. Melinda had many friends, and some of her friendships spanned over a 30 year time frame.

A memorial service will be held at Henry Fork Community Church, Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
