Our beloved momma passed into the arms of her Savior on Monday, March 29, 2021.
Melva Jean Ferguson Dillon was born on May 6, 1937 in Roanoke, VA. She was 83 years old.
Jean was a caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to travel, go to the beach, watch Dale Earnhardt race, and she loved to sew. She loved to cook and that showed through always having meals for anyone who would attend, at her home. She retired from Halmode Apparel where she worked in the planning office.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Roger Wayne Dillon,, her mother, Annie Belle Thompson Ferguson, and father, Coles Blaine Ferguson, and a brother and 5 sisters. She is survived by her children, Mitzi Thurman and Clinton, Stephanie Spalding and John, Joe Hale and Tammy. Survived, also, by her brother, Harold "Buddy" Ferguson and Barbara, sister-in-law Linda Woolwine and Jimmy, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Clearbrook Baptist Church, 5219 Singing Hills Road, Roanoke, VA 24014, 540-774-3839. Service will be at 1:00pm, Friday, April 2 with Bryan Ratliff officiating.
