Melva Flora Wertz

Melva Flora Wertz, age 93 of Rocky Mount, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014. She was born October 13, 1921, a daughter of the late John E. Flora and Essie James Flora, and was also preceded in death by her husband Glenn R. Wertz (October 29, 2013); brother James E. Flora. She was a member of Antioch Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn R. Wertz II and Jeanette, Forest, Wayne and Sylvia Wertz, Rocky Mount; two grandchildren and spouses, Brett and Christi Wertz, Kelly and Chris Workman; two great-grandchildren, Dominic Wertz and Austin Workman; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted at Antioch Church of the Brethren, 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 with Pastor Eric Anspaugh officiating. Interment will be private in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. The family would like to express special thanks to all of the staff at Franklin Health Care Center for their tender, loving care.
