Melvin “Mel/Bob” Robert Graves, 74, of Moneta, Virginia, passed away, Thursday, December 31, 2015 unexpectedly. Mel was a former resident of Franklin, TN for 10 years and longtime resident of Bedford, and Hudson N.H. He was the loving husband of Marie-Claire Graves for 53 years. Born on May 24, 1941, in Marlborough, MA. He was the son of late Nellie (Graves) English and Charles Graves. He was a graduate of Hollis High School in Hollis NH 1958.
Mel was a U.S. Army Veteran, member of the American Legion and co-founder of Publishing Partners International (PPI) with longtime friends Al Weston and Sam List. Over the course of 10 years PPI became one of the leading software solution providers for the publishing and newspaper industries. In 2001 PPI was sold to UNISYS and Mel retired. Mel enjoyed playing golf, reading, taking walks, watching sports on TV and cross-word puzzles. He also enjoyed traveling to France to visit his extended family. Mel is survived by his sister, Sharon Condra and her husband Bill Condra of Wilton, NH, three daughters and a son, Corinne Tetrault and her husband Thomas Tetrault of Amherst, NH, Sandra Tobin and her husband Mike Tobin of New London, NH, Valerie Arguin and her husband Dave Arguin of Chagrin Falls, OH and Eric Graves and Fiancé Ashley Hill of Lexington, VA; Five grandsons, Justin Tetrault and wife Suzanne Tetrault, Ben Arguin, Jeremy Graves, Nolan Graves and Sean Tobin, as well as two great-grandson’s Parker and Jameson Tetrault.Visitation will be held Tuesday January 5, 2016 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Flora Funeral Services 665 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151-0763. A private memorial will be held in New Hampshire at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to: The American Legion or Disabled American Veterans.
