Merle B. Perdue

On Wednesday, November 9, 2011 God’s heavenly angels called our dear mom, grandma, great grandma, aunt, sister-in-law, friend Merle B. Perdue, age 83 of Rocky Mount to her eternal resting place where she will meet with the love of her life, our dad, Ray A. Perdue for their journey together. Merle is preceded in death by the following family members, mother and father, Ada S. Barbour and Roosevelt B. Barbour; sisters, Arlene Hamblett and Sadie Collins; brothers, H. D. Barbour, Earl Barbour, and Adrian Barbour. Three special nephews by marriage, Ronnie Philippe, Matthew Wyatt (Amy) and Louis Robertson (Leslie). Mom is survived by her dear son, James Allen Mills, Jr. and a special loving and caring daughter-in-law, Faye Mills. Also, survived by one loving daughter, Jo Ann Woody of Salem, who tried to be the daughter mom wanted her to be in this life. Also, surviving are three loving granddaughters, Amy Wyatt, Leslie Robertson and Stephanie Hall and a special fiancée, P. J. Tosh, Jr. In addition, great grandchildren (Amy) Jaime Phillippe and Kasey Phillippe, (Michael Poole) Kristen and Dylan Wyatt, (Leslie) Amber and Matthew Robertson, (Stephanie and P. J.) Kelci and Kaleb Hall, Cameron and Little Phillip Tosh. One great great grandchild, Jace Poole. Merle is survived by two brothers Bobby (Nelda) Barbour of Illinois and Calvin (Ann) Barbour of Gretna. Also, by a special loving sister-in-law, Ann Marie Barbour of Gretna. The family would like to give a special thanks to Sally Martin and girls for the outstanding care that they have shown our mother of the last year at Sally assisted living home in Wirtz. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount, Va at 2 P. M. on Saturday November 12, 2011. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, Rt. 220 in Rocky Mount, Va. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center in Rocky Mount, Va.
