Michael Cole Grindstaff

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cole Grindstaff, 35, on November 10, 2017. Cole is survived by his parents, Cindy and Gareth McAllister, and Mike and Marianne Grindstaff, brothers, Tyler (Kelly) and Dylan McAllister, son, Elye Grindstaff, his best friend and girlfriend, Lindsay Young, and grandparents, Buddy and Betty Ann Campbell. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Zade and Edna Grindstaff.

Cole served his country in the Navy prior to becoming a self-employed welder and fabricator, and had a true passion for his craft. His love for the outdoors was evident in all of his hobbies, whether he was riding his dirt bike, hunting, fishing, or surfing. He shared a special connection with animals, especially his beloved dog, Kobi. Cole was known for his quick wit, kind heart, and contagious smile. He was loved by so many and will be incredibly missed.

A funeral service in memory of Cole will be held on Monday, November 13 at Flora Funeral Home, 665 S Main St, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Visitation with the family will be from 4 – 6:30 pm, with a funeral service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in his memory to two organizations that Cole would have supported: VeteranMX Foundation ( http://veteranmx.com/support/ , 227 S.
