Michael C. Tumey

Michael C. Tumey, age 76 of Glade Hill and formerly of Manassas, VA died Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born August 27, 1945 a son of the late Walter George Tumey and Delores Anderson Tumey. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers; and one sister. Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Kathleen Tumey; daughter, Christine Tyson (Tom); four grandchildren, Christopher, Douglas, Andrew and Olivia Tyson; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Tumey was a United States Army Veteran serving two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Washington Transit Authority with many years of service and was a member of Crafts United Methodist Church.

Donations in Michael’s memory may be made to the small lake-side church that he loved dearly, Crafts United Methodist Church, 30 Crafts Ln, Glade Hill, VA 24092. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 3 p.m. Saturday with Rev. B. Sung officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
