Mike Mitchell Quinn

Mike Mitchell Quinn, age 93 of Ferrum died Wednesday, December 24, 2014. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lessie Boyd Young; second wife, Mary Underwood Quinn; parents, Lewis W. and Margaret Boyd Quinn; children, Ronnie, Wayne and Monica; step-mother, Martha Quinn; brothers and sisters, Albert, Oliver, Tyler, Joel, George, Lindberg, Hattie, Ora, Cora and Bertha. Surviving are his daughter, Sheila Quinn Taylor (Stewart); 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Luke Quinn, Otha Quinn, Kermit Allen; sisters, Sarah Hambrick and Frankie Tilley; brothers-in-law, Elmer and Denver Atkins. Mr. Quinn was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and retired from Ferrum College. He was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Mission for their care including Macie Boitnott and Clyde Midkiff. Funeral services will be conducted from Maple Grove United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Peter Choi officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maple Grove Church, 452 Henry Road, Ferrum, Va. 24088. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
