Mildred Robertson Chitwood

Mildred E. Chitwood gained her wings peacefully at home on 06-10-21 with her family by her side in Franklin County, Virginia. She is survived by her daughters, Magdalene Chitwood (Jeff Underwood) & Donna Wright; grandchildren, Kayla Witcher (Brandon), Kelsey Chitwood, Ryan Dudley, & Marvin Wright; eight great-grandchildren. She was p receded in death by parents, Jim Walter & Lilly Mae Robertson; husband, Archie Chitwood; 10 siblings . Mildred was a faithful Christian who spent her entire life in Franklin County. She married Archie Chitwood and raised her family on their small farm while working at Bassett Walker & Martin Processing. She was a longtime member of Doe Run Christian Church & the Women's Fellowship. She spent many hours of her life sewing quilts with her sisters & nieces which was a favorite hobby of hers. Most of all she was a devoted parent, grandmother & great-grandmother. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 with Chaplain Melton Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Robertson Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
