Mildred Davis Jones

Mildred Elizabeth Davis Jones, age 85 of Fork Mountain went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 24, 2016. Mildred was the daughter of the late Zed Ambrose Davis and Delta Morten McNeil Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Willie Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Gloria Davis. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter and son-in-law, Georgia Ann Jones Gravely and A.L. Gravely; son and daughter-in-law, David Lee Jones and Regina Woods Jones all of Fork Mountain; stepson, George Ronald Jones of Stoneville, NC; grandson, Travis Lee Jones; step-granddaughters, Rhonda Jones, Erica (Brad) Elkins; step-grandson, Michael (Monica) Gravely; step-great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kaden Gravely, and Mason Elkins; special friend, Landon Lewis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Walter, Roy and Herbert Jones. Mildred was a member of the Fork Mountain United Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending church on Sundays with her church family and friends. She loved the outdoors, especially her garden and flowers and she was an avid Atlanta Braves fan where she enjoyed traveling to baseball games. Mildred retired from the Franklin County School system where she worked in the high school cafeteria. The family expresses their appreciation to Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital and Trinity Mission for the love and care they gave. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Lynn Bechdolt officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount and all other times at the home of David and Regina Jones.
