Mildred Alice Mattox

Mildred Alice Mattox, age 91 of Glade Hill went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, December 4, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of the Jacks Mountain Community and a member of Glade Hill Baptist Church for many years.

Mildred was born April 15, 1933 to the late Thomas Simmons Mattox and Lucy Kate Mattox. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Allison Mattox; and sisters, Katherine Spangler and Louise Pagans.

Surviving are her nieces, Margaret Taylor (Harry) and Kathy Rakes (Carlton); nephew, Stephen Pagans (Lynn); great-nieces, Tammy Fortune (Clint IV) and Amelia Pagans; great-great-nephews, Clint Fortune V and Jonathan Fortune.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glade Hill Baptist Church (6608 Colonial Turnpike, Glade Hill, VA 24092).

A graveside service will be held at Franklin Memorial Park, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024 with Rev. Clint Fortune IV and Rev. Kevin Howerton officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
