Mildred Claudine Meeks, age 82 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmitt and Ruth Simpson Perdue; daughter, Phyllis Hay; son Jerry Hall; and step-son, David Meeks. Surviving are her husband, Peter D. Meeks; children, Diane Tuluay of Turkey, Mae Conner of Rocky Mount, Mark Hall of Troutville, Lisa Doss of Copper Hill and Brenda Chitwood of Martinsville; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; step-grandson, Jeff Meeks (Michelle); and sister, Ruby P. Hall (Linford). Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
