Mildred Ann Mitchell Dillon

Mildred Ann Mitchell Dillon, age 92 of Rocky Mount went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 24, 2018.She was born in Franklin County, VA on February 26, 1926 and was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Herbert Dillon; her parents, Robert Lindsey Mitchell, Sr. and Virginia Belle Draper Mitchell; brothers, Robert Lindsey “Bobby” Mitchell, Jr. and James David Mitchell; and granddaughter, Dillon Seward McGhee. She is survived by her son, David Thomas Dillon and wife Kathy R. Dillon of Rocky Mount; daughter, Ann Dillon McGhee and husband Seward M. McGhee of Richmond; five granddaughters, Lindsey Dillon King of Hampstead, NC, Megan Dillon Greene of Chesterfield, VA, Olivia Dillon of Roanoke, VA, Whitney Davison of Corona, CA and Kendall McGhee Martin of Richmond, VA; two step-grandchildren, Paul Yeatts of Waynesboro and Melissa Yeatts of Chesterfield; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edwin Mitchell; and her dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Betty Dillon; along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Will Waller and Rev. Bruce Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, 35 North Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Her family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
