Mildred Naff Plunkett, age 87 of Boones Mill, Va., went to be with her lord on February 20, 2007.
She was a lifetime member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren.
Mrs. Plunkett is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Darius “Dee” Plunkett.
She and her husband owned and operated their dairy and beef farm for over 45 years in the Red Valley Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Cline and Elda Flora Naff; sisters, Nadine Naff Flora and Rachel Naff; brother, Ernest “Buddy” Naff; sister-in-law, Dorothy Plunkett Hill; brothers-in-law, Bentley Flora, C.T. Jamison and John F. Sink.
Other survivors are daughters and son-in-law, Trudy Plunkett and Vicki P. and James “Mike” Hartsel all of Boones Mill.; grandchildren, Steve and Katie Wirt, George and Lisa Lyle; great-grandchildren, William Wirt, Natalie Wirt, Hanna Lyle and Sally Lyle; sisters-in-law, Lenoria B. Naff, Virginia Sink and Alvera Abshire; brother-in-law, Fred Hill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jairus “Jay” and Reba Plunkett, Alvena and Buddy Edens; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007 by Pastor Bruce Huffman. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses of Raleigh Court Healthcare for their kind and loving care.
Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and other times at the home of her daughter, Trudy Plunkett.
