Mildred Shively Scott

Mildred Shively Scott, age 98 of Henry died Friday, April 28, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Russell Scott; parents, Mark and Lula Shively; sisters, Geneva Hodges, Opal Thompson, Virginia Hodges; brothers, Millard, Kermit and Garvice Shively; and granddaughter, Sherry Young. Mrs. Scott was a member of Ferrum Faith Assembly of God Church and loved the Lord and reading her Bible. She enjoyed her flowers and watching birds especially red birds which were her favorite. Surviving are her children, Doris Carter, James Scott (Regina), Phyllis Young (Joel), Wanda Scott, and Rita Scott; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Estelle Thompson and Mary Sauer; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 3 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Roger Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Fork Mountain Rescue Squad. The family requests no food. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
