Miles Holland

Miles Wills Holland, Sr., 93 0f Rocky Mount passed away Saturday February 10, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Lou Ellen Holland; four brothers and sisters. Mr. Holland, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Veteran of WWII, was retired as resident engineer for the Virginia Department of Transportation of Franklin County and served as a member of the Franklin County Board of Supervisors. He is survived by his wife Nellie Virginia Holland; son Miles W. Holland, Jr. and wife, Wanda G. Holland of Boones Mill, son Robert C. Holland and wife Brenda F. Holland of Christiansburg; sister Mary Lou of Richmond; brother Willis of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Jessica L. Holland of Atlanta, GA, Kenneth R. Holland and wife Lorie A. Holland of Rocky Mount, Matthew W. Holland and wife Heather V. Holland of South Berwick, ME, Michael L. Holland and wife Hillary M. Holland of Roanoke; great-grandchildren Madison, Whitney, Ella and Ellyott. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Franklin County Department of Aging. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
