Minnie Nunley Minnix

On Wednesday, August 31, 2011 our beloved mother, Minnie Nunley Minnix, age 90 of Boones Mill left this life to be with the Lord. She was born April 20, 1921 a daughter of the late Governor Kemper and Molly Stanback Nunley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dillon Minnix; seven brothers and three sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sarah Jane Harrison (Terry), Charles D. “Debo” Minnix (Patricia), Mary Ann Angle (Dale), Louise Moore (Jesse), Linda Sink (Gary), Robert E. “Bobby” Minnix (Gerrie); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruth Wagner Nunley and Bertha Funk (Otis); several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Joe Dillon and Elder Odell Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Minnix Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Relay for Life. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
