Mitzi Harlow Boggs

Mitzi Harlow Boggs, age 68 of Rocky Mount beloved wife, mother, mimi, daughter, sister and friend passed away surrounded by family and friends at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Monday, August 31, 2026.

She was born on November 21, 1957 in Roanoke, Virginia to Bill and Betty Harlow. Mitzi lived a life marked by love, kindness, strength and devotion to both her family and friends. She will be remembered for her loyalty, fierce spirit, love for antiques and countless ways she made those around her feel loved and cared for.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Raymond and Ethel Altizer, Lewis and Eva Harlow; father, Bill Harlow; and sister, Jeannie Harlow.

Mitzi is survived by her husband, Steve Boggs; mother, Betty Harlow; sister, Cindy Harlow; daughters, Amy Daniel, Ashleigh Austin (and husband, Sam Austin), Alexis Turman (and husband, Joseph Turman); in-laws, Sam Boggs (and wife, Shirley Boggs); mother-in-law, Mary Ann Schindler; grandchildren, Dakota Daniel, Dylan Daniel, Landon Daniel, Bryce Austin, Sawyer Austin, Lane Turman and Madeline Turman; great-grandchildren, Addison Daniel, Brody Daniel and Cade Daniel; countless cousins and extended family; and long-time friend, Cyndi Markham.

More than anything Mitzi cherished her family. Her love, guidance, laughter and memories will remain in all of our hearts and continue to shape the lives of all that knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her love will remain with us always. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Flowers will be accepted at the home (15 Willow Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151) by Saturday, October 3rd. They will be displayed at her celebration of life that will be held at The Early Inn on Sunday, October 4, 2026 starting at 2 p.m. Please come casual and ready to celebrate the life of a very special woman.
