Morton Ogden Lloyd, age 97 of Rocky Mount, peacefully went home to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family at his home, Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Mr. Lloyd was a dedicated volunteer Fireman for over 20 years and was an active member of his church.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his loving wife of 70 years, Cecelia Ellis Lloyd; his daughters, Jane Lloyd Schoonfield, Brick, New Jersey, Elizabeth Lloyd Flanders, Watertown, New York, Mary Ellen Flack, Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, George and Eric Weiss, Matthew and Christopher Edgar; six great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Lloyd.
Funeral services will be conducted from Fairmont Baptist Church 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Fairmont Baptist Church, 1669 Bethlehem Road, Boones Mill, Virginia 24065 or to your volunteer fire department.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
