Nancy Hodges Amos

Nancy Hodges Amos, age 82 of Rocky Mount passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was born May 2, 1943, a daughter of the late George William Hodges and Dean Holland Hodges. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sally Kate Hodges; and two nieces, Sally Dematrice James and Bonnie Young. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Joseph K. Amos (Susan), Roger Dale Amos (Kim), Bobby Steven Atkins, Bobby “B” Steven Atkins II, Journey Mary Rosalinda Atkins, Autumn Sky Atkins and Serenity Joy Atkins; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Nancy was a longtime member of Henry Fork Community Church. She was a mother to many in the community, even though they weren’t her own. Nancy was a very selfless person, often times giving away her things to those who needed them most. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026 with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
