Nancy Marie Barrett, age 90 of Rocky Mount and formerly of Roanoke died Tuesday, May 1, 2007.
She was born June 12, 1916 a daughter of the late Elisha and Frankie Graves Crabtree. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Howard Lee Barrett; and a son, Freddie Eugene Barrett.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Leatrice Joy and Clarence Crigger, Jr., Spotsylvania; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Brenda Younce, Pembroke, Terrill and Cynthia Barrett, Wirtz; stepson, Norman Younce, Morganton, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Elisha Crabtree, Jr., Enid, Oklahoma.
Special thanks are extended to the staff of Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital and Trinity Missions for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Barrett.
Graveside services will be conducted from Sherwood Burial Park 3 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Joe Dillon officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, 1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
Her family will receive friends Thursday from 1 – 2 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
