Nancy Saunders Shelton

Nancy Saunders Shelton, age 85 of Penhook, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Tuppie” Eugene Shelton; parents, Luther and Annie Mae Saunders; brothers, George Tosh and Edmond Powell; sisters, Mary, Ruth, Daisy, Augusta, Reva, and Betty. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Poindexter (Fred), Ann Brodie, and Eugenia Morrison (Kenny); six grandchildren, Amanda Quarles (Rob Dickinson), Brian Quarles, Jason Palmer, Kristie Palmer (Carl Austin), Megan Morrison, and Bryce Morrison; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy retired from Fieldcrest Cannon with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Museville Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Museville Christian Church, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2022. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/Smith Mountain Lake.
