Nannie Geneva Johnson Hodges

Nannie Geneva Johnson Hodges, age 90 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, July 26, 2011. She was born March 19, 1921 a daughter of the late James Manley and Virgie Holland Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hodges. Surviving are her children, Janice and Charles Ellis, Ernestine and Doug Johnson, Jim and Mary Anne Hodges; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Allman; and brother, James C. Johnson. Mrs. Hodges was a longtime member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted from Sandy Ridge Baptist Church 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family respectfully requests no food at the home. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
