Naomi Turner Dowdy, of Greensboro, NC passed away Friday, November 27, 2009. She was formerly of Rocky Mount, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Hettie Turner; husband, Garland Dowdy; and several sisters and brothers. Surviving are her one daughter, Linda Sue Vincent; grandson, Andy Vincent and wife Julie; granddaughter, Kim Deal and husband Todd; great-grandchildren, Lauren Vincent, Anna Vincent, Nicole Deal, Preston Deal; half sister, Scarlet Bond of Richmond, VA; half brother, Eldridge Turner of Glade Hill, VA; several nieces and nephews including one special niece, Bernice Blankenship; special friends, Wilma Sharp, Nellie Barber of Burlington, NC, and Elsie Mabe of Greensboro, NC. Naomi retired from retail and was of the Baptist faith. She was a beautiful caring generous person who filled the lives of her family and friends with joy. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2009 with Rev. Joe Chandler officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
