Naomi W. Hutcherson, age 87 of Rocky Mount died peacefully Monday, February 26, 2007 at her home.
She was born December 19, 1919, a daughter of the late Willie and Agnes Webster of Rocky Mount. She was preceded in death by three husbands including Lawrence Hutcherson and a cherished daughter Cheryl K. Hutcherson.
Survivors include her devoted son Don and wife Kathy, Rocky Mount; three beloved grandsons including Courtney and Amy, Greenville, Tennessee, Darron, Glade Hill and Colin Layne Hutcherson, Charlotte, North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Kaytlin and Zachary Hutcherson of Greenville, TN.
Naomi was a life long caregiver having started as a nurse before age 21. She worked with Dr. Booth, Dr. J. M. Green in Ferrum, was a supervisor at Franklin Memorial Hospital, and upon her retirement spent several years nursing at Eldercare of Franklin County. She served as a Youth Choir Director and later taught Sunday School over 50 years at Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount Baptist Church 2:00 p.m. Friday with Dr. Jack Corvin and Dr. Joe Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Rocky Mount Baptist Church will be appreciated.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 S. Main Street, Rocky Mount and other times at the home, 95 Montview Avenue, Rocky Mount.
