Neal Kenneth Hodges, age 44 of Rocky Mount, left this life unexpectedly Thursday, April 23, 2009.
From the time he was a toddler until he left, he was always trying to make people laugh. He was a devoted son, loving brother, father, uncle, husband, and grandpa.
Neal was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Wayne Hodges, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; mother, Magdalena Wright Hodges; father, Bentley Hodges, all of Rocky Mount; daughter, Kenealia Hodges; granddaughter, KendalLee Hodges, both of Hardy; brother, Jerry and Donna Hodges of Ferrum; sister, Lisa and Bryan Young of Callaway; nieces and nephews, Ronnie Wayne Hodges, Jr. of Ferrum, Travis, Beth, Lindsey, Nicholas, Titus, Priscilla, Kayla, Benjamin, Elijah and Sophia Hodges of Ferrum, Bryana and Kelley Young of Callaway. He is also survived by three step-children; and one step-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 4 p.m. Sunday with Dr. William Shively officiating. Interment will follow in the Hodges Family Cemetery.
His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
