Nelson (Flukie) Woodrow Hall, age 75 of Redwood passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Van Buren and Mary Dudley Hall; two brothers, Van Buren Hall, Jr. and infant Wallace C. Hall; and brother-in-law, T.W. Chitwood. To those who knew him he will be remembered for his sharp wit and his keen recollection of family ties and histories. He founded H&D Construction Company in 1970 and ran the business successfully until his retirement in 1995. He is survived by three sisters, Betsy Ferguson (Ray), Nancy Lynch (P.L.) and Elaine Chitwood; one brother, William J.(Bill) Hall and sister-in-law Alice Hall; nieces, Linda Robertson, Lisa Scott, Lynne Ferguson, Jennifer Staker, Gail Abbott, Brenda Taylor and Carolyn Shotwell; nephews, Steven Hall, Lester Lynch, Michael Chitwood and Jeffrey Chitwood; numerous great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4 at Flora Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road SW, Suite 115, Roanoke, Virginia 24017. A graveside service will follow at a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
