Nettie Evelyn Beal Hicks

Nettie Evelyn Beal Hicks, age 98 of Rocky Mount died Friday, January 11, 2019. She was born in Meigs County, Ohio on October 12, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hicks, Sr. Surviving are her son, Paul Hicks II and wife Karen; three grandsons, Benjamin (Dawn), Jonathan (Kimery), Stephen (Emily) Hicks; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley Beal; and sister, Lucille Swart. Mrs. Hicks worked for many years as an Accountant in Bristol, TN. She was also an active member of First Methodist Church in Bristol, TN before moving to Rocky Mount 12 years ago and joining Franklin Heights Church. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday with Dr. Stan Parris officiating. Interment will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Glenwood Cemetery in Bristol, TN. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or Franklin Heights Church. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
