Neva Brooks Farris

Neva Brooks Farris, age 72 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, June 15, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Nena Brown Brooks; daughter, Anne Farris; and son-in-law, Donny Smawley. Surviving are her husband, Donnie L. Farris; daughters, Pamela Ferguson and Lindsay Smawley; grandchildren, Hailey and Bryce Ferguson, Peyton and Ethan Smawley; brothers, Clinton Brooks, Euell Brooks and wife Barbara; sister, Mamie Browning and husband Mike; numerous nieces and nephews. Neva worked most of her career at Central Oil in Rocky Mount and was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the American Alzheimer’s Association. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
