Norene Doss Wickline, age 92 of Rocky Mount, died Saturday, January 12, 2008.
Mrs. Wickline was born on May 16, 1915 a daughter of the late Ira K. and Hattie Porterfield Doss. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert Wickline; brother, Arnott Doss; sister, Elaine Doss Wickline.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Bell; nieces, Susan and Carl Cobb, Karen and Richard Pence; great-nieces, Nikki Cobb Weikel and husband Mickey and their son Trey, Heather Dudding; great-nephew, Andy Cobb.
Mrs. Wickline taught school in West Virginia and Glade Hill. She was a faithful worker for the Red Cross Blood Mobile for over 50 years and also was an active member of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Fellowship Sunday School class, the United Methodist Women and served as a Sunday School teacher.
Graveside services will be conducted from Carmel Cemetery, Gap Mills, West Virginia 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Gene Fullen officiating.
Mrs. Wickline’s request was that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, 35 North Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151 or to Gap Mills United Methodist Church, c/o Gene Arthur, HC 83 P.O. Box 450, Union, West Virginia 24983.
A visitation will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
