Norma Jean Poindexter

Norma Jean Poindexter, age 83 of Penhook died Monday, March 14, 2022. She was born March 1, 1939 to the late Raymond and Douglas Law David. She was also preceded in death by her son, David W. Poindexter. Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy S. Howard (Tommy), Janet G. Thompson (David); daughter-in-law, Carolyn Poindexter; grandchildren, Jennifer Poindexter (Stacy), T. Shannon Howard (Tara), Heather L. Thurman (Mike); five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald L. David (Carol); sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie D. Pickeral, Betty D. Ferguson (Gene); special friends, Dixie Brown and Rhonda; fur buddy, Paul. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Terri, Jeanetta, Stephanie and Staff; also Dr. Tiffany Powell, Rhonda, Betty, Bonnie and Jennifer for all the support and care. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 with Chaplain Jeffrey Kaldahl officiating. Interment will follow in the David Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
