Norman Benjamin “Benny” Moore, Sr., age 62 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 19, 2009.
He was a member of First Church of God, Roanoke, employed by Kroger Co. with 45 years service where he was Head Dairy Clerk, was a United States Air Force Veteran and graduate of Virginia Western Community College.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; son, Norman Moore, Jr. and wife Michele; daughter, Angela Slough; grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Slough, Kelley Moore, Sierra Moore; parents, Norman W. and Dee Moore; sister, Jean Guthrie and husband Robert; brother, Bobby Wayne Moore and wife Mary; sister-in-law, Barbara Gayle Gibbs; and several nieces, nephews and other in-laws.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 7 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. James Milner officiating. Interment will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (Relay for Life), P.O. Box 3907, Martinsville, Virginia 24115.
His family will be receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service, exclusive provider for Veterans & Family Memorial Care, Rocky Mount.
