Nova Maxey Holland

Nova Maxey Holland, 95 of Rocky Mount, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 7, 2017. Nova was a very active member of Penhook United Methodist Church and the community. She worked at DuPont for many years, after leaving DuPont she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, taking pride in raising her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burley D. Maxey and Alice Ferguson Maxey; and her brother, Whorley Maxey; sisters, Doris Rigney, Eunice Hodges. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Henry Landon Holland; her children, Benny Holland (Donna), Patti Hall (Jeff Arthur); grandchildren, Brandon, Melissa (Christian), Karli (Greg); great grandchildren, Seth, Taylor, Bryson, and Addison; sister-in-law, Opalene Maxey; number of nieces and nephews; along with other family members and special friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Penhook United Methodist Church P.O. Box 215 Penhook, VA 24137 or charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
