Ollie Pearl Skidmore

Ollie Pearl (Montgomery) Skidmore, of Rocky Mount died Thursday, August 17, 2017. Mrs. Skidmore was born in Frenchburg, KY on July 5, 1921. Ollie married English Anderson Skidmore on July 16, 1949 residing in Middleton, OH. They retired to Melbourne, FL, where they enjoyed their close friends, sunshine and lots of shrimping for over 25 years. To be closer to their daughter they relocated to Rocky Mount, VA.

Preceding her in death were her husband, English Anderson Skidmore; parents, Bernice (Becraft) and Willie Montgomery; sisters, Gladys Melon, Ana Lee Firshich, twin sisters in infancy; brothers, Charlie, John, Eugene and Arnold Montgomery; daughter, June Antrican; son, Dale Anderson Skidmore. She is survived by her daughter, Jean C Boone; grandsons, Tony Boone (Melissa) of Columbus, OH, Todd Boone (Carman) of Rocky Mount, VA; granddaughters, Trenda Boone of Charlotte, NC, Tama Rios (Jesse) of Ceres, CA and Yvonne Myers of Trenton, OH; 7 great-granddaughters, 4 great-grandsons and 7 great-great grandchildren; sister, Rebecca Powers of Orlando, FL; brother, Carl Montgomery of CA; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.

Her loving caregivers, Betty, Carol, Elaine and Juanita kept her company the last few years of her life.

Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount, VA. Her family will receive friends with a viewing at 1:00 followed by a service at 2:00 Saturday August 19. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
