In recent years as Mom’s health failed, the family devoted themselves to her care, along with her ”girls” ( the collective name she gave those who helped out so lovingly). Each child who lived near, and their family would take a day to enjoy Mom and see to her needs, we called this “Our Day”. Those who lived at a distant came as often as they could to share in this privilege. With so many helping, it was often necessary to ask, “Whose day is it to be with Mom?” In the last week of her life we as a family were blessed to have served “our day”. And now we are blessed to answer “Whose day is it to be with Mom?” with “It is God’s Day”. It was Mom’s faith in Christ and her unfailing trust in His saving grace that gives us this peace. We have learned much from her longing to go home to be with Jesus. Her example was her final gift to us. We thank the Lord for such a devoted follower of Christ to have been ours.
