Orpha Lee Altice

Orpha Altice age 97 of Boones Mill died Sunday August 16, 2009. She was a charter member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, South where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was born January 10, 1912 a daughter of the late John Calvin and Rosa J. Altice. Miss Altice was also preceded in death by four siblings, Woodrow, Bernard, Elma Altice and Jessie A. Guthrie. Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude and Wallace Lumsden and their family; sister-in-law, Nancy R. Altice; brother-in-law, Emmett W. Guthrie; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her church family. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 18, 2009 with Rev. Richard Thomas, Rev. Curtis English and Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren.
