Oscar Lenford Hodges

Oscar Lenford Hodges, age 90 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, December 22, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Doctor Peter and Sallie Hunt Hodges; brothers, Raymond, George, James and Edgar; sister, Clarice; granddaughter, Jaquetta Young Walker. He was retired from Stanley Furniture with 34 years of service and a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Sallie Kate Hodges; children, Sally Dematrice James, Bonnie Young, Elizabeth Ann Hodges, Oscar Wayne Hodges; three grandchildren, Tammy Weaver, Stacey Hodges, Greg James; six great-grandchildren, Brandy, Breanna, Brooke Weaver, Emily Grace Walker, Brian Walker, Everleigh Hodges; sister, Hazel Lumpkins; one brother, Hensel Hodges. Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
