Otha Stephen Hurt

Otha Stephen Hurt, 93 of Wirtz passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019. He was born June 30, 1925 a son of the late Stephen Tinsley Hurt and Maggie Scott Hurt. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clifton; and sister, Stella. Otha was a lifetime member of Halesford Baptist Church and retired from VDOT. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Lee Hurt; two sons, David (Lori), Kenny (Debbie Spradlin ”Wonder Woman”); brother, Alfred (Dorothy); sister, Christine; brother-in-law, Tommy Bousman (Ruth); a number of nieces, nephews and many special friends. Funeral services will be conducted at Halesford Baptist Church, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2019 with Pastor Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Services and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
