Ova Lee Barnett "Bud"

Ova Lee Barnett, “Bud”, age 81 of Rocky Mount passed away suddenly Thursday May 13, 2021 at his home. He was retired from Cooper Wood Products. Bud was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Korea in the 1 ^st Calvary Division and a member of the DAV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Hallie Barnett; his son, Kenneth Lee Barnett; and sister, Retha "Sandy" Farmer. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Nadine Barnett, daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Dexter Helton, step-grandchildren, Aeriel and Sierra Helton, beloved niece and nephew, Daniella and Christopher Montoya, two sisters Oneida Eggers and Oleda Charles, also many nieces and nephews. Bud was a loyal servant to God, his family and his country.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday May 17, 2021 at Flora Funeral Chapel with Rev. Liz Lazenby officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
