Patricia Ann (Patsy) Cogswell, age 67 of Tanyard Village in Rocky Mount died Thursday, June 14, 2007.
She loved her “Lil Rascal” scooter, making her way around town. She was a compassionate friend to animals and was also a people person who never met a stranger. Mrs. Cogswell was a member of First Baptist Church in Havre-de-Grace, MD and the Young at Heart Club. She was the last of her generation.
Mrs. Cogswell was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marion Burkindine; husband, Robert Daniel Heaps; daughter, Moneomia Dawn Price; granddaughter, Angelina Dawn Price; brothers, Donald, David, Barry, Robert, and Ronald Burkindine.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Ann Newman and husband Terry, Tammy Mitchem and husband Jimmy DeRita; grandchildren, Donald L.T. Miller and wife Tabatha, Wendy Lynn Jamison and husband Paul, Lawrence Milard Price, III; five great-grandchildren and one expected; sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Nancy and Betty Burkindine; several nieces and nephews; adopted son, George and Debbie Tucker and their daughter Ann Marie.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 1 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Eddie Hawks officiating.
The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
