Patricia Hutson Wray

Patricia “Paddie” Gale Hutson Wray, age 49 of Wirtz danced to her own song of life until March 23, 2012, when she continued her heart’s song in warmth of the Son of Heaven. Although Paddie lived at 6475 Burnt Chimney Rd Wirtz VA, she was never truly tied down. She followed the wind’s call around the world. She loved and enjoyed traveling. Her free spirit is one of the most remarkable and inspiring traits. Paddie took pleasure in being a loving mother. She also was a proud owner of two beautiful canines, Casper and Delilah. Although she will miss her friends and family while she waits for their blessed reunion, she will not be alone. Paddie is preceded by her father, Thomas Neal Huston. She is survived by her mother, Margie Davis; her husband, Barry Wray; her children, Frank Thomas Hutson, Heather Diane Hutson, Trevor Raine Wray and Colton Blaze Wray; her sisters, Susan and Robert Rice, Nickie and Mike Radford; her brother, Thomas Neal Lewis Hutson; her mother in-law, Shirley Wray; sisters-in-law, Peggy and Johnnie Blankenship, Wanda and Neil Hudson; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. And to the ones who will miss her, she would say, “Don’t worry about me; I have gone to my home where it is always flip flop weather.” In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the American Liver Foundation or to the charity of your choice. Also on the behalf of Paddie the family thanks the caring staff in the neuro trauma ICU at Carilion Roanoke Memorial. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 3 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Jerry Naff, Pastor David Freeman and Pastor Tom Sullivan officiating. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service.
