Patrick T. Tyree, age 50 of Rocky Mount, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home in Sugar Land, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon T. Tyree, and his mother Mabel Fralin Tyree. He owned a property management business and held memberships in the Glen Laurel Homeowners Association Board of Directors, Burney Road Municipal District Board of Directors, The Bridge Fellowship Church of Sugar Land, and the Houston Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association. He was a childhood resident of the Sontag Community and member of Beulah Baptist Church. In 1986, he earned a B.A. in Communication Studies, followed by 16 years of experience in broadcast media as a producer, director, editor, and operations engineer, employed with WDBJ Television, Inc., Roanoke, and Video/Broadcast Services, Virginia Tech. Surviving are his wife, Shelley Ellison Tyree; one sister, Penelope S. Tyree; one aunt, Louise F. Upchurch; and one uncle, Henry F. Fralin. Memorial services will be conducted in Sugar Land, TX on Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. in The Bridge Fellowship Church with Pastor Scott Rambo officiating; and in Rocky Mount, VA on Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. in Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Saleeba of Beulah Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
