Paul Allen Hite

Paul Allen Hite, age 87 of Rocky Mount passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erlyene Hite; parents, Bryson and Nora Hite; and brother, John (Marvin) Hite. Mr. Hite was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren and retired as an Insurance Agent with Southland Life. He served in the United States Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. Surviving are his children, Gary Hite, Brenda Hite, Bruce and Darlene Hite, Ralph Hite; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
