Paul Woodrum Stanley, age 83 of Wirtz passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Willie and Blanche Stanley; brothers, Glen, Ray, Rowand Stanley; sisters, Edna Shopshire, Lillie Wilder; and son-in-law, Ricky Dent. Mr. Stanley was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 6 where he participated in over 300 flag presentations for deceased veterans. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy McGhee Stanley; two daughters, Carolyn Dent, Teresa Johnson (Malcolm); granddaughter, Tabitha Richards and husband James; grandsons, Travis and Trevor Johnson; great-grandson, Tanner Richards; sisters, Mae McElory of California, Sarah Ridgeway of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will follow in the Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Salem Health and Rehabilitation Center and the VA Hospital for the great care they gave him. Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 6, P.O.
