Pauline Saul Flora “Polly” age 83 of Boones Mill passed away peacefully at her home Monday August 5, 2007.
She was a longtime member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren where she was an active member and Deacon. She retired as Secretary of Boones Mill Elementary School with over 20 years of service.
She was born December 21, 1923 to the late John and Eliza Webb Saul. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marshall L. Flora, Sr.; brothers Posey, Bill and John Saul; sisters Emily Flora, Mary Flora and Christine Hammond.
Surviving are her children and their spouses Sandra and Cliff Massengill, Marshall L. Flora, Jr., Ellen and Russell King; grandchildren Ryan and Heather Traylor, Evan Trayler, Adam Flora, Megan Flora, Brandon Page, and Christopher (C.J.) Page; great-grandchildren Kavyn Page, Brianna Johnson; sister Lois Sheets; special friend (adopted daughter) Sandy Ruff Hunt; brother-in-law Rev. Kermit P. Flora; sisters-in-law Thelma Flora Leffue, Reba Plunkett, Christine Saul, Helen Saul, and Geraldine Saul; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County and caregivers Dorothy Penn and Bernice Yauilla.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren, 2312 Brick Church Rd., Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
Funeral services will be conducted from Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Bruce Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday with her family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
