Pearl Lee Newby, 91 of Wirtz passed away Friday, September 14, 2012. She was born December 13, 1920 a daughter of the late Heston and Myrtle Jones Sullivan. Surviving are her husband Melvin Newby; sons, Dale C. Newby and Melvin Newby; sister, Frances Bechus; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. Graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Franklin Memorial Park with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Her family will receive friends 6-8 pm Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
