Pearly Virginia Sloan Cauley went to her heavenly mansion on Thursday, July 24, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents George “Tom” and Edith Y. Sloan; a sister Janet S. Meador; and a brother Junior T. Sloan.
Pearly is survived by her loving husband Carl T. Cauley, Boones Mill; her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and David A. Brown, Sr.; her granddaughter, Pamela Chitwood and her husband Steven; one precious great-granddaughter Olivia Madelyn Chitwood, all of Rocky Mount. Mrs. Cauley is also survived by her two sisters, Esther Huffman, Roanoke and Lillie Amos, Rocky Mount; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George “Buck” and Pauline Sloan, Boones Mill, Robert and Pat Sloan, Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Lydia Belle Gills and husband Todd, Ruth Mauk, Roanoke; brother-in-law, Robert Cauley and wife Doshie, Roanoke; numerous nieces, nephews and her wonderful neighbors and church family.
The family would like to thank everyone who had a part in taking care of Mom during her illness.
Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Mill Church of the Brethren 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008 with Pastors Robert Miller, Curtis English and Richard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Boones Mill Church of the Brethren, 25366 Virgil H. Goode Hwy, Boones Mill, VA 24065.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
