Peggy Sue Mabe, age 77 of Rocky Mount went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Samuel Mabe and Elsie Odean Scott; step-father, Arthur “Buster” Scott; and brother, Charles “Roby” Scott. She is survived by and was a devoted mother to her three children, “Shea” Angell of Rocky Mount, “Randy” Love (Kimberly Nickell Love) of Penhook and Tammy Love (Fiancé Monty Lamkin) of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Paige Love of Rocky Mount, Kelsey Angell of Rocky Mount, Chase Love and Kayla Anderson of Penhook, Brandon Anderson of Rocky Mount. Also surviving are her brother, “Sam” Mabe (Dorcus) of Wytheville; sisters, Frieda Fogelsong (Roger) of Wytheville, Mary Ann Dutton (Roger) of Atkins; sister-in-law, Patti Scott of Ivanhoe; several other nieces and nephews. Peggy was a member of Living Waters Assembly of God and loved the Lord. She wasn’t able to attend but always made sure she donated. Peggy loved looking at her beautiful flowers and telling us how to care for them. She really enjoyed watching her hummingbirds out of her front door. She loved sports especially the Pittsburg Steelers and Penguins. She could tell you everything about all of them. She loved her grandchildren and her family dearly along with her friends, neighbors and caregivers as she loved most everyone she met. She had a heart of gold and was loved by many. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friendly neighbors, caregivers and hospice during her illness. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018 with Pastor Roger Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
