Peggye Clyde Box Price, native of Birmingham, Alabama died May 5, 2010 in Rocky Mount, Virginia where she resided for the last 15 years. Peggye was born in 1924, daughter of Lydia Pow Box and Clyde Box. She graduated from Ramsey High School in Birmingham and attended Judson College in Marion, Alabama. In 1944, she married Ensign Dale Atwood Price, a navy fighter pilot, in Pensacola, Florida. During their 59 years of marriage, the couple raised three children, Fredrick Dale Price of Birmingham, Alabama, David Clyde Price of Naples, Florida, and Mary Price Wickstrum of Ferrum, Virginia. Always together, the couple remained devoted until Dale Price died in 2003. Peggye was known as a quiet, kind mother and among her friends, she was known for her great wit. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Richard Clegg and Pastor Rick Poland at the family home.
