Perry Lynwood Cundiff, age 71 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 3, 2010. He was born February 16, 1939 in Roanoke, Va. He will be most remembered by his family and friends for his dedication to the trucking industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Clara Cundiff; wife, Catherine Cundiff; and son, Perry Cundiff, Jr. He leaves behind a devoted and loving sister, Bonnie C. Williams of Mount Pleasant, Roanoke, a dedicated cousin and husband, Don and Muriel Short of Wirtz; niece, Faye Forbes of Knoxville, TN; a dedicated step-daughter and special friend, Cheryl Pagans and grandsons, Travis and CW of Rocky Mount; step-children and step-grandchildren, Theresa Bailey and Jessica of Rocky Mount, Ronald Rigney and Christy, Ronald, Jr., Johnathon of Rocky Mount, Danny and Cathy Rigney of Patrick Co., Va., and Lynwood Cannaday of Ferrum, Va. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Jackie Spence officiating. Private family inurnment will be held in Mountain View Memorial Park at a later date. Special thanks to Lewis Gale Hospital and Dr. Vandana Karri, and also thanks to the nursing staff on one south of Friendship Retirement Community for their care and concern. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
